Biography

Ms. Varnam attended East Carolina University graduating in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and in 1999 with a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner. She is board certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center. She has experience in nephrology, urgent care, and family practice. Ms. Varnam treats patients ages 3 and up.

Ms. Varnam is a national speaker on topics relevant to nurse practitioner practice and practice management. She has authored multiple journal articles and continuing education articles for nurse practitioners. Further, she is the recipient of multiple awards including being named NC Practice Nurse of the Year by the North Carolina Nurses Association (2008) and induction as a Fellow in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (2010).

With a keen interest in nutrition as medicine, Ms. Varnam has achieved additional education in functional nutrition and is a certified Functional Nutrition Lifestyle Practitioner. In addition, as a certified Evexipel® provider, she is extensively trained in hormone optimization and thrives on assisting patients to feel their best and live their best life.

Ms. Varnam moved to Brunswick County in 2002 when she married Eric Varnam, local barber and lifelong resident of Brunswick County. She enjoys spending time with her family, swimming and listening to the waves crash on the beach.
